„Pentru iubirea mea — fiecare vers din piesa asta vorbește despre noi.”
After years of lending her unmistakable voice to some of electronic music’s biggest names, Australian singer-songwriter XIRA is stepping into the spotlight on her own. Her debut solo single, ‘Feel’, arrives June 19 via Anjunabeats, marking the beginning of a new chapter for an artist whose vocals have already become familiar to millions of dance music fans worldwide.
While her name may not have always been front and center, XIRA has built an impressive résumé through collaborations with leading producers including 3LAU, Audien, Nicky Romero, and Daniel Allan. Her breakthrough came in 2019 with ‘Tokyo’ alongside 3LAU, a track that has since amassed more than 25 million streams and introduced her distinctive voice to a global audience.
Born and raised in Adelaide, XIRA later studied at the Australian Institute of Music in Sydney before spending time immersed in Austin’s vibrant music scene. Returning to Australia, she earned support from Triple J and secured a publishing deal as a songwriter, laying the foundation for a career that would quickly expand into the world of electronic music.
Over the following years, XIRA became one of the genre’s most sought-after vocal collaborators, contributing to releases such as ‘Only For You’ with Nicky Romero, ‘One Last Dance’ with Audien, and ‘Eyes Off You’ alongside Polar Inc. Yet behind the scenes, her personal journey was marked by significant challenges.
The inspiration for ‘Feel’ emerged from one of the most difficult periods of her life. While navigating an extended IVF journey, a divorce, the global pandemic, and serious health complications that resulted in frequent hospitalizations, music became both an outlet and a source of strength. Unable to perform regularly, XIRA turned inward, channeling her experiences into songwriting.
Rather than attempting to escape difficult emotions, she chose to confront them directly through her music. Speaking about the track, XIRA explains that ‘Feel’ was born from a desire to embrace pain rather than avoid it — a process she credits with helping her heal and move forward.
Now based in East London and entering a brighter chapter personally and professionally, XIRA sees ‘Feel’ as more than just a debut release. It serves as the first statement of her identity as a solo artist, offering listeners an honest reflection of her experiences while introducing the sound and vision she plans to build upon in the years ahead.
The release also marks a significant milestone through its home on Anjunabeats, the influential label founded by Above & Beyond and widely regarded as one of the most respected imprints in melodic electronic music. With ‘Feel’, XIRA not only begins her solo journey but does so on one of the genre’s most prestigious platforms, setting the stage for an exciting future.
