A standard pair of Beolab 90 floorstanding speakers already sits in the ultra-luxury category at around $200,000—but the new Atelier Edition series pushes things even further with striking, design-led reinterpretations.

Celebrating its 100th anniversary, Danish audio brand Bang & Olufsen has introduced an extremely limited collection of Atelier Edition versions of its flagship Beolab 90. These speakers lean heavily into artistic expression, blending high-end sound engineering with bold, almost sculptural aesthetics—and, unsurprisingly, they come with a significantly higher price tag.

A pair from this anniversary lineup will set you back roughly $450,000, more than double the cost of the standard model. However, these editions are designed to stand out as much visually as they do sonically, with finishes ranging from sleek metallic tones to vibrant, eye-catching hues.

The collection features five distinct designs, each with its own personality:

  • Titan Edition offers a clean, futuristic look by exposing the speaker’s aluminum core. The surface is treated using sandblasting with crushed volcanic rock, giving it a refined yet industrial finish.
  • Zenith Edition takes a more luxurious approach, decorated with 1,800 polished aluminum spheres that create a shimmering, jewel-like effect.
  • Shadow Edition introduces a darker, more enigmatic style, replacing traditional fabric with black-coated stainless steel mesh and carbon fiber details. The mesh subtly reveals the internal drivers, creating a holographic visual effect.
  • Monarch Edition leans into a warmer, more classic aesthetic, combining white fabric with Santos Palisander wood. Rosewood lamella panels add texture and highlight the speaker’s curved form.
  • Mirage Edition stands out as the boldest variant, featuring an iridescent finish that shifts between blue, magenta, and purple. This effect is achieved through a specially developed knitted fabric that offers a semi-transparent view of the drivers beneath.

With the Atelier Edition, Bang & Olufsen transforms its already iconic Beolab 90 into a series of collectible design objects—blurring the line between high-performance audio equipment and modern art.
