Tijs Michiel Verwest (born 17 January 1969), known professionally as Tiësto, is a Dutch DJ and producer known for his role in bringing electronic dance music into the mainstream.
He co-founded the record label Black Hole Recordings in 1997, gained worldwide fame with his remix of Delerium’s “Silence” in 2000, and became the first DJ to perform live on stage at the 2004 Athens Olympics.
Tiësto won a Grammy Award in 2015 for his remix of John Legend’s “All of Me” and has since evolved his sound to incorporate dance-pop and electro house.
